Self-Belief

Self-Belief - How Powerful Is Yours?

How much would your life change if you really believed in yourself - if you had the kind of self-belief that would empower you to do great things??

Where would you be if your self-belief was strong enough to convince you that you could do anything you really want to do?

What would you be doing - right now - if you had the self-belief that you could achieve the things you really want to do?

How would you feel if you could get rid of all those nagging doubts and feelings that keep telling you that you're not really good enough, you'd best not try in case you fail, you should keep quite about your ambitions in case people laugh at you... if you could banish every negative, disempowering, unhelpful, unresourceful though about yourself for ever, and have total self-belief, instead?

Why Self-Belief Is So Important To You

You've probably not realised this before, but exactly where you are right now, this moment, as you read this, is the direct result of just what you believe...
  • About yourself;

  • About what you can - or can't- achieve;

  • About exactly what you do - or don't - deserve; and

  • About the outside world, and your own proper place in it.

  • Rich or poor, happy or miserable, in a good or bad relationship, prospering doing something that you love or struggling to make a living out of something you detest...

    It all depends on whether you have strong and healthy self-belief.

    Look around you. Is everything exactly as you want it?

    The quality of your relationship, your health, your career, your home, your furnishings, your car, your friends, your finances, and anything and everything that matters to you...

    Are they all the way, the quality, you want them to be?

    Do your surroundings and the things you do reflect the person that you really are inside, with all that makes you a unique and precious personality, the real, essential YOU?

    If they don't, you need more self-belief.

    Now, look within.

    Are you happy? Do you wake up every morning filled with exhilarating joy, looking forward to the opportunities of a new day filled with all the things you love the most?

    Well, if not, why not? People who have self-belief do, every day.

    It's how your life's supposed to be!

    Here's what life's like for most people, though...

  • They wake up in the morning feeling that they've barely slept;

  • Their first thought on waking is depression about a job they hate, but feel they have to go to, or anxiety about the bills they have to pay;

  • Their next feeling is resentment that their partner doesn't make them happy, or because they haven't got a partner right now;

  • Breakfast, if they bother with it, is eaten without attention or enjoyment, then they glance in the mirror and scowl at the harrassed-looking reflection that stares back at them...

  • ... and that's the good part of their day!

    The rest of it drags past doing things they don't much like, for a salary or wage that doesn't satisfy them, till they get to the few hours of leisure that are supposed to give some point to all the misery, before they eventually go to bed, depressed or anxious at the thought of a repeat of the whole miserable experience next tomorrow...

    ... which is why they don't sleep restfully or with refreshment, and wake up in exactly the same frame of mind next day.

    Is it really worth enduring such a frustrating, miserable waste of life when all it takes to change things for the better is some simple self-belief?

    Of course not - so let's put the record straight about what, exactly, self-belief is... and what it isn't.

    Self-Belief Is NOT...

  • Arrogance;

  • Complacency;

  • Refusing to listen to other people's opinions or advice; or

  • Always having to be right.

  • Self-Belief IS...

  • Accepting that you have as greeat a right, and possibility, of achieving everything you really want as anybody else;

    Recognising you have all the ability you need to learn the skills that will take you where you want to go;

  • Acknowledging that you have every right to express creative energy in ways that bring you success and happiness; and

  • Realising that your own special blend of talents and ambitions, skills and vision can in some way benefit the world, and that therefore it's your duty, as well as your inalienable right, to use them to bring the maximum amount of good to others and yourself.

  • Why You May Be Short Of Self-Belief Right Now

    Like every other human being, you were born with strong and healthy self-belief... but most people's self-belief seems to disappear by the time they're 5 or 6 years old.

    It's not suprising, really. To get to where you are right now, you've gone through a process of learning things. Lots of things, from learning to walk and talk, and feed and dress yourself, to all the subjects that you've learned at school, and maybe college and employment... and that's not counting driving, dancing, handling your finances, and all the social situations that you've had to learn to deal with.

    Learning means you make mistakes. You learn by trial and error, copying what someone's taught you, and trying out your own new ways of doing things.

    That's fine - as long as someone points out to you that making those mistakes is an inevitable, even healthy, part of learning. The more things you've made mistakes in learning, the greater the number of the skills you've mastered.

    Most people haven't had that kind of reassurance and encouragement, though. Most grown-ups assume kids realise it's perfectly normal to make mistakes... and forget just how disempowering it can be to be constantly corrected and reproved for getting something wrong.

    That means that by the time they leave school, most people are convinced that making mistakes is absolutely all they're good for.

    Now, The GOOD News...

    Your self-belief has not been seriously damaged. It's just gone missing, hidden behind the layers of negative experiences that have left you able to believe only disempowering things about yourself.

    To rediscover it, all you have to do is just get rid of all the negative impressions and beliefs about yourself that are cluttering your mind.

    The quickest, most effective way of doing that is by reprogramming your subconscious, inner mind to get rid of all the feelings of unworthiness and fears you can't achieve the happiness and the success you long for, and replace them with more positive and helpful images and feelings that can quickly reconnect you to the strong and healthy self-belief that you were born to have.

    It's this subconscious, inner mind that controls things like your breathing and your heartbeat... and how positively (or otherwise) you think about yourself, what you deserve and what you can achieve - and therefore how much self-belief you have.

    Reprogramming it to renew a much more positive approach to the beliefs you have about yourself, and what you believe you can achieve, will help you to demolish all the barriers that have stood between yourself and all the things you want to have and do, achieve and be.
