Do you ENJOY exercise, or sports or fitness training?

Most people don't. In fact, most people hate it - even some of those who've reached the very top in sport... including the great Muhammad Ali!

Exercise, no matter what the kind of sports or fitness training it might be, is good for most of us (though if you have any doubt about its suitability for yourself, or if you want to try a more strenuous exercise or fitness program than you're used to, it's important that you talk about it with your doctor first).


Most people's main reason...


... for taking up fitness, exercise or sports training is probably one of these:-

  • Exercise or training makes you fitter;

  • Exercise or training helps you to control your weight;

  • Exercise or training tones your muscles and makes you more attractive, giving you more confidence; or, for some people...

  • Exercise or training makes you better at a sport you love and want to compete successfully in.

  • That sounds great...


    ... but it ignores some basic facts about exercise or sports and fitness training.

  • Exercise and fitness training can be anti-social. You can't just leave the gym and head for an evening drinking with your friends - unless you don't mind losing the benefit of all that work;

  • Exercise and fitness training can be lonely. Not everyone can afford the fees that many gyms and health clubs charge, and there aren't many people going to keep you company if you're lifting weights at home, or running round a track;

  • Exercise and fitness training can sometimes be thoroughly unpleasant. If there's a charity marathon run in your area, you must have seen a lot of people training for it, running dressed in shorts and T-shirt in the pouring rain; and

  • Even if you're highly motivated, exercise and fitness training are hard work.

  • You aren't going to change the inconveniences of exercise and fitness training. They come with the territory.

    What you can do, though, is take the sting out of them.

    There is a way you can remove the inconvenience, and stop it being a barrier to your progress in your exercise and fitness training.


    In effect, you STOP all demotivating factors being true... for YOU.


    You immediately gain the upper hand over your conditions and your circumstances once you begin to grasp a secret that's available to all, but realized only by a very few.

    Not surprisingly, those few are generally among the most successful in achieving everything that they set out to do.


    The truth is...


    ... that your feelings and your attitude are NOT dictated by your circumstances and surroundings.

    In fact, the way you experience what's going on around you is determined, not by what's happening in the outside world, but by your mind.


    You can't stop the rain from falling, or the work from being hard, but you can become so motivated that you never notice any inconvenience... in fact, your inner mind can make you love your exercise and sports or fitness training so much that you enjoy every moment of it, no matter what the weather or the circumstances!


    Your inner, or subconscious, mind...


    ... is that part of your mind that actually controls your actions, impulses, motivation, thoughts and pretty nearly everything you do.

    Its function is to make you happy... and one of the ways it does this is by putting things you regularly do on auto-pilot for you, so that you can do them without thinking.

    In most respects, that's great - but it determines what will make you happy by the pictures that you're holding in your mind.

    If your mental picture of your exercise or fitness training is of something you enjoy (most people's isn't!), then your motivation will be sky-high.

    So will your progress.


    On the other hand...


    ... it also means that as long as you believe that exercise and fitness training are uninviting and hard work, it's prompting you to skip your routine... and the more you tell yourself you really ought to do it, the harder it will prompt you not to.
